Brace Yourself Europe

On the 25th August (10 days time) we depart for Europe on what has been (in preparation) described as the holiday of a lifetime.

Certainly the organising has been a monumental effort, and should not go unrecognised.

As we get closer its becoming a little more high pressured to resolve some of the outstanding things, that are still to be seen to.

Big brother Pete has just blown me out of the water. Despite the fact that he and Liz are both in annual leave deficit, they have made bookings to meet us in Phuket/ Thailand at the end of October. They are travelling an enormous way and many hours to stay with us for just two nights, and to help me celebrate my 50th birthday. As I said to him last night, the word is much over-used and misused by others and thus trivialised, but for me this is an "awesome" gesture.

Things are actually coming together, we still have much to do, but it feels like the more diffcult logistics are solved.

This is the itinerary as we know it today.

25th August 9:35 pm- leave for Singapore from Perth
26th Aug arrive Singapore 2:50am- 6 hours sleep in the airport hotel
Tour bus around Singapore
26th August 22:55 Leave for Paris France
27th Aug 0605 arrive Paris
27th Aug 07:15 Connection to Rome
27th Aug 9:40 am Rome accom Holiday Inn Medici
28th Tour Rome - accom Holiday Inn Medici
29th Aug - Board MS Noordam, Civitavecchia Rome

On the 8th Sep we part company with the Alers' and the Noordam, they are going for a futher 10 days to the East Mediterranean.

We plan to pick up Florence and the Tuscans on the way to Venice for Sheryl's Birthday on the 10th

10 - 20th Sept, our own arrangements (possible Spain visit then make our way to Munich)
20th-21 Sept Munich Bavaria, catch up again with Erica And Peter, beer tents and Oompah bands at the OktoberFest. YEAH!!

22 Sept to 30th Sept - our own arrangements (We'd like to catch up with Russell Sarre and family in Hamburg, perhaps then to Prague?)

2nd October Pick up the three kids (yes they are coming!) at Amsterdam airport (Schipol) check into the apartment (that we still dont have yet) for 7 nights
7th October Roland's 50th Birthday!!
9th October, leave Amsterdam with kids for European destinations still as yet undetermined.
19th October, Kids leave for home from Amsterdam airport (Schipol)
20th October we fly (KLM) Amsterdam to Singapore
Meet Richard and Julie at the airport who will travel Penang and Phuket legs with us, that's so good that they can join us.
21st October we fly (Tiger) to Penang
29th October we fly (Firefly) to Phuket
29th October, Check in Le Meridien Karon Beach
30th October Pete and Liz arrive Le Meridien Karon Beach
1 November - Bye to Pete and Liz, check in to BaumanBuri Hotel, Patong, 7 nights poolside room.
8 November, head for home

There are stil lots of gaps, but we will fill them as we go
